Essay writing
Goal:
Write a research paper which outlines the stages of the creation of one of our most important communication mediums: the internet.
Project Statement:
Based on the times, technology, people, and policies of the time, list the three essential events that had to occur in order for the internet to exist. Examine each of these events explaining the significance and highlight which had the largest impact.

Strategy:
I began this paper by first gathering various sources on the subject and organizing them into one place. I then went through each of these sources and made notes documenting where I found the information for citations later. Next was to organize this content into a content plan which outlined the paragraphs of the paper.

Finally, the introduction was written to outline all the talking points of the research paper and to give a short introduction to the subject as a whole.
Learning Outcomes:
From this project the main takeaway I had was how important it is to have a plan for writing any piece of content. Often writing without a plan can cause the content to go off course and hurt the overall unity of the document and the argument trying to be made. Having a plan, even if it changes along the way, helps in visualizing what content is relevant and how it should be organized. Finally, I learned the many steps the internet had to take in order to become the communication powerhouse it is today.
